Self-Supporting Towers

If you are looking for a tower that is able to support a heavy load and give you height then our self-supporting tower is the correct choice for you. Our self-supporting towers possess large equipment holding capacity and are also very useful when you have limited ground space available. Magnum provides a full line of pre-welded and knock-down self-supporting towers for all communication applications. We offer both three and four legged towers in our self-supporting tower line. Self-supporting towers are often chosen where property values are high or construction space is extremely limited. Standard materials are solid round or solid angle, so you will never have to worry about interior rust or leg splitting due to the build-up of interior ice. Pipe legs are also an available option. Our self-supporting towers have been installed in every soil condition including rocky mountain tops. Several towers have been placed on roof tops in a city core area where no ground space was available for construction.

Guyed Towers

Guyed towers are our specialty. Our guyed towers range from 60 foot Met towers to 1300 foot radio towers. Guyed towers will give you the most height per dollar. Our lattice designed guyed towers allow wind to pass through the tower while retaining great strength to give you the height you need. Also, guyed towers do not require large foundations. The primary advantage of a pre-welded guyed tower is relatively low manufacturing and erection costs. Magnum offers a full line of pre-welded guyed towers.

Poles

Our monopoles are used when reaching great heights is not a priority. Monopoles can hold heavy loads and are very durable. Our monopoles are constructed out of high-grade steel.

Design/Engineering

When you ask Magnum to design your tower you can be confident in the quality of the tower. We tailor our towers specifically to your individual needs. Each tower design considers not only the environmental load conditions that must be endured (wind, ice, and seismic loads), but also includes consideration of the construction personnel and equipment availability, local terrain, and suitability of the structure for the proposed application. Our alternating brace direction eliminates progressive rotational tower twist caused by the large permanent downward force of tall guyed towers. Each tower is provided with a set of engineering calculations, plans and specifications that meet or exceed the latest versions of TIA-222-G standards. A complete set of calculations are provided in which member stresses and tower twist and sway are completely and clearly presented for review by the local building authority. Each tower is provided with a set of engineering drawings that succinctly summarizes the design of the tower, including every leg, web, gusset, bolt and weld size; as well as defining over-all tower geometry, panel point spacing, and foundation construction details.

Fabrication

At Magnum we use 360° welds on all of our towers. All of our welders are AWS certified. Each tower is supervised during production and inspected by an independent AWS certified welding inspector upon completion. Thick parts are pre-heated prior to welding to prevent laminar tearing and minimize weld shrinkage stress. Tower sections are very precisely fabricated with the use of specially designed fit-up jigs to insure that tower member assembly is plumb, square, and true to line. We fabricate a diverse variety of steel, aluminum, and magnesium structures and structural components. We are often asked to be creative in bringing a client's vision into reality. Magnum can provide antenna mounts, roof top tower support frameworks, OSHA approved climbing ladders, gin poles (steel or magnesium), waveguide support brackets, and much more.

Tower Foundations

We engineer our foundations to specifically match the requirements of our towers. All of our foundations are designed by professional engineers and come with a PE stamp from an engineer in the state the foundation will be built. Our foundations include drill piers, slab, and anchor foundations.

Painting/Galvanizing

We provide a variety of finishes including FAA approved tower white and tower orange paint, hot-dip galvanized, or custom epoxy paint finishes (military applications). We also provide painting services on existing towers.
